Wilbur Wright - Definition and Overview

Wilbur Wright (April 16, 1867 - May 30, 1912), the elder of the Wright brothers, seen as one of the fathers of heavier-than-air flight. Wilbur was born in Millville, IN on April 16 1867. He was the third child of Bishop Milton Wright and Susan Catharine Wright. The family later moved to Dayton, OH. This is where Wilbur with his brother Orville unlocked the secrets of maned flight. Wilbur and Orivle made there first historic flight at Kill Devil Hills North Carolina on December 17 1903 . Wilbur died May 30 1912 after suffering from typhoid fever.
