William de Ros, 7th Baron de Ros - Definition and Overview |
William de Ros, 7th Baron de Ros, KG (1369 – September 1, 1414) was Lord Treasurer of England.
At the age of 24, already a knight, he inherited the title Baron de Ros on the death of his brother John. In the same year he was employed by King Richard II, with Walter, Bishop of Durham, the earl of Northumberland, and others, in negotiating a treaty of peace with Scotland. He seems to have been a special favourite with Henry IV, who made him of his council, and employed him in various civil affairs of great importance.
