Wimbledon station is a large train station in the south-west of London, next to Wimbledon's Centre Court Shopping Centre. It is currently served by the London Underground's sub-surface District Line, South West Trains (Stagecoach), Thameslink (Govia), limited South Central Trains (Govia), and Tramlink, all of which arrive at surface-level platforms
From Wimbledon services to Central London, west London, the City and Midlands can be obtained traveling northbound. Southbound trains provide services to the South West (Bournemouth, etc.); other south-bound services can shuttle you to Sutton.
At one point this station was able to provide rail services to West Croydon via the South Central [equivalent (prob. Connex)]; this is now done by the successful Tramlink which took over the route. In the past this station was also able to provide services to Tooting Junction station via Merton Abbey station, another way to get into the City.
