Winston-Salem State University is a four-year university located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Founded in 1892 as the Slater Industrial Academy, Winston-Salem State now enrolls over 2,800 students and is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina System. It is a historically black college.
