The Yamato class battleships of the Imperial Japanese Navy were the largest naval vessels of World War II, in terms of tonnage.
The class consisted of two vessels:
A third vessel was begun as a battleship, and completed as an aircraft carrier:
A forth, unnamed vessel was scrapped while 30% completed
