Yarmouth, Isle of Wight - Definition and Overview

Yarmouth is a seaside resort, and the only town in the western part of the Isle of Wight, off the southern coast of England. The town is named for its location at the mouth of the small West Yar river (there is also an East Yar on the island). It is home to a fortress, and a ferry which sails to Lymington on the mainland. A Heritage Coast path leads from the town to Cowes.
