Yellow Dog or Yaller Dog is an almost "archetypal" dog: small to medium size, yellow with black markings, a somwhat "sheperdy" feature set with a moderately long nose and pointy ears. There is speculation that if you mix enough modern dog genes you end up with something close to the "proto-dog" that all domestic dogs came from.
