Yilan City (宜蘭市), commonly and historically spelled "Ilan" or "I-lan" (Wade-Giles), is the capital of Yilan County, Taiwan Province of the Republic of China. It is on the north side of Lanyang River. The first Han Chinese settled there in 1802.
