Youth of Today was a seminal American hardcore punk band credited with reviving the straight edge hardcore punk scene from 1986 to 1989. Albums such as We're Not In This Alone, Break Down The Walls and Can't Close My Eyes defined an attitude and an outlook for thousands of hardcore fans around the world.
The bands' frontman Ray Cappo was well known for being an outspoken krishna and would later form the more melodic Shelter and in the late 90s Better Than A Thousand
The bands guitarist Porcell (John Porcelly) is also well known and have played in some other well known straight edge bands. Youth Of Today have been an inspiration for thousands of bands both musically and lyrically, this style of hardcore punk is sometimes labeled youth crew hardcore.
