YowCow is a online payment service, similar to paypal, that allows safe, fast transactions between member accounts. It was founded in 2004 as an alternative to paypal, as an attempt to rectify some common complaints about paypal's handling of its accounts. One complaint was that small sums of money were unfairly charged a higher percentage to be moved through the system. YowCow charges a flat rate of 2.5% of the transaction, plus other action-specific fees.
However, some groups have complained of hidden fees not mentioned in the ads for the service. There are also rumors that they are having internal problems.
