Yuganskneftegaz - Definition

Yuganskneftegaz is the second largest oil production complex in all of Russia. Yuganskneftegaz was formely owned by Yukos, however it was recently auctioned off to the little known Russian oil company Baikalfinansgroup. Yuganskneftegaz is located in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District of Western Siberia. With 11.63 billion barrels of proven oil reserves Yuganskneftegaz was the largest Yukos production complex. Yuganskneftegaz produce about 1 million barrels of crude oil a day, about 60% of Yukos's total, and about 1.6% of the world total.

History

Yuganskneftegaz began operations in 1964, and saw significant upgrades in the 1990's that are responsible for bringing its production levels to their current levels. Yuganskneftegaz main oil fields are Priobskoye, Prirazlomnoye, Mamontovskoye, Malo-Balykskoye and Salymskoye.
