Zur Geschichte der Handelgesellschaften im Mittelalter is a doctoral dissertation written by Maximilian Weber, a German economist and sociologist in 1889. Note that the original edition was in German and the title can be translated as The History of Medieval Business Organisations.
Weber examined various legal principles according the profit, risk an cost of an enterprise were carried by several individuals in the Middle Ages.
