Zwijndrecht, Belgium - Definition and Overview

Zwijndrecht is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the villages of Burcht and Zwijndrecht proper. On January 1st, 2004 Zwijndrecht had a total population of 18,000 (8,871 males and 9,129 females). The total area is 17.82 km² which gives a population density of 1,010.19 inhabitants per km².
