The Rubiaceae are a family of dicotyledon plants, variously called the madder, bedstraw, or coffee family.

Other plants placed here include the cinchona, partridgeberry, gambier, ixora, and aal.

A list of genera from Delta (http://biodiversity.uno.edu/delta/angio/www/rubiacea.htm) is given below; note it splits a few into separate families, Henriquezaceae and Naucleaceae. These are however "nomine conservanda" (names to be retained, but no longer in use); see: An update of the Angiosperm Phylogeny group (http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/links/doi/10.1046/j.1095-8339.2003.t01-1-00158.x/full/).
