Alphabet

Interpretation: To see letters of the alphabet in your dream, symbolizes something that your mind is associating with or those particular letters - it might be an object, a place, or a person in your life. For example, the letter "T" may refer to your friend Tina. If you dream is about the whole alphabet, you may be trying to understand some concept or emotion that is still in the primitive stages.


Courtroom

Interpretation: If you dream that you are in a courtroom standing up for charges against you, this represents your struggle with issues of fear and guilt. A situation in your waking life is giving you much worry. You may feel that you are being judged in some way. Other dreams about courtrooms (for example, attending a trial or being the lawyer) predicts short-term financial troubles. However, the long-term outlook is optimistic if you avoid wasting time thinking about the past. Look forward!


Gender

Interpretation: Dreams of changing gender (for example, a girl dreams she is a boy) are very common. These other "selves" simply represent feelings or thoughts that come from a side of your personality that you regard as being "male" (or in a boy's case, female). There in many characteristics that we associate with a particular gender, such as aggression being male. It is normal and natural for this to be played out in your dream as you becoming the opposite gender. It helps you to explore or act out feelings, or burn off negative thoughts, that you would otherwise repress.


Government

Interpretation: A dream of being involved with government, whether local or national, generally indicates a period of uncertainty in the dreamer's life. This dream is related to power and the qualities or feelings that rule your life. For example, does greed, lust, or love guide you in your actions? Consider if you are living your life the way your "ideal self" would behave. Also, this dream may also reflect the dreamer's views about society at large.


Letters of the Alphabet

Numbers

Interpretation: Numbers remembered dreams often represent something deeply significant from the dreamer's real life. The numbers could represent a date (for example, 112 could mean 1- the month of January, 12- the 12th day). Teacher

Interpretation: To see your teacher (past or present) in a dream suggests that you are seeking some advice, guidance, or knowledge. You are heading into a new path in life and ready to learn by example or from a past experience. Consider your own personal experiences with that particular teacher. Alternatively, it may relate to issues with authority and seeking approval. Tutor

Interpretation: If you see or work with a tutor in your dream, you are seeking some advice, guidance, or knowledge. You are heading into a new path in life and ready to learn by example or from a past experience. If you dreamed of being a tutor, this means that you must control your tendency towards wild behavior or disobedience, or the consequences will be unpleasant for you.


Clock (circular)

Interpretation: It is symbolic of wholeness, completeness, and unity of the self. The clock is a mandala that revolves and it may represent immortality. On the lighter side, when you are dreaming about a clock, time is an obvious issue. You may be currently experiencing anxiety in regard to a time-sensitive situation. For example, people worry about their "biological clock" running out, or they are concerned about not being "on top of things." In general, however, this dream may be a reminder that you need to speed up your actions and that time is an important factor. Old dream interpretations say that if you hear a clock strike, (or alarm go off), positive things will happen to you, and if you are winding a clock, you will fall in love! When interpreting this dream, try to remember the time and then attempt to understand how those numbers are meaningful to you.


Colors

Interpretation: Most people dream in colors, but at times some stand out more than others. Colors are symbolic and their symbolism is part of culture. We communicate with color and relate ideas with them. For example, a bride wears white and black is worn at funerals. Colors also represent energy. The meaning that you give to the colors in your dreams depends on the meaning that you give to those colors in daily life. If you "see red" when you are angry, then red symbolizes anger and not passion for you. Some generalizations have been made as to the meaning of colors in dreams. They are as follows Black: depression, sadness, despair. Some believe it symbolizes hidden sexual desires. Blue: spirituality, optimism, positive thoughts, communication. Couch (sofa)

Interpretation: Dreaming about a couch could mean that you may have a need for some rest and relaxation. The couch also has other symbolism. For example, it could be an object that brings up warm memories, such as those of your first love, whom you snuggled and first kissed. Additionally, look at all the details of your dream and try to determine if your couch is symbolic of an analyst's "couch," such as Freud had. Old dream interpretation books offer a somewhat strange but curious meaning. They say that the couch may be symbolic of a false sense of security and that you should listen to the advice of those that love you.


Hands

Interpretation: We express ourselves with our hands, and appropriate reading of body language is a valuable source of information. Likewise, in the dream state the hands may reveal information about emotions, intentions, and overt behaviors. For example, if in you dream you see clenched fists you may have much repressed anger. Sometimes extended hands suggest a need to develop close friendships. If the hands in your dreams are stroking you, may be feeling sexy.


Insects (insectoid)

Interpretation: Some dream interpretation books name specific insect symbols. However, the main idea to consider when you are interpreting this dream symbol is that you may currently be annoyed or "bugged" by a person or a situation in life. Use common sense and some general impressions about the specific insect when interpreting your dream. For example, if you are dreaming about bees stinging you think, about some of your relationships. If you are dreaming about ants consider you social interactions and work ethic.
