Interpretation: If you dream of having a relative that doesn't exist in real life, you may be wishing for more love or friendship in your life. Dreaming of a cousin means you want better or more friendships, and dreaming of a missing parent means you wish for more love and also protection. If you dream of having a large family (not your real family), this means that your fortunes in life are looking up. But if the family is unhappy or fighting in your dream, it means a run of bad luck may be in store for you. If you dream of dead relatives, it could simply be a reflection that you miss people who have passed on. If they are not dead in real life (but they are in your dream), then your dream could represent angry or anxious feelings towards them.

Running Away

Interpretation: If you dream of running away from home, this suggests you are trying to avoid an issue in your real life. Pretending it doesn't exist could make things worse - you will not solve problems until you face them head on. This dream also suggests that you are not taking or accepting responsibility for your actions. In cases where the dreamer's home life is very difficult, this dream can represent a straight-forward wish to live in a happier place.

Anxiety (anxious)

Interpretation: Experiencing much anxiety in your dream state may be related to your current difficulties and everyday life. Gaps may exist between the way things are and the way you would like them to be. Older interpretation books suggest that when you dream about anxiety, the contrary is true and that your worries will be lessened. However, always keep the compensatory nature of dreams in mind. If you are not feeling anxiety during the day, it could be that you are ignoring it and that it will appear in your dream. Therefore, look at the details of your dream and attempt to identify the anxiety-provoking situations in your daily life.

God (Jesus)

Interpretation: Regardless of whether we believe in a God or not, all of us have been exposed to the idea of a supreme and omnipresent being. The dilemma over the existence of God is probably the most common dilemma of them all. Everyone from time to time will have a dream about "God." Its symbolism depends on the dreamer. God in our dreams can be considered a positive or self affirming symbol. It represents truth, purity, and love. It also represents the creative energy which is abundant in all of us (whether we know it or not). For a certain number of people, in the dream state, God may have negative connotations. For them God could represent eternal punishment, damnation, and invoke massive amount guilt. Most religions consider dreams to be a pathway to God or to the spiritual realm. Through dreams we have an opportunity to have experiences which are not available during the day. Our unconscious mind may be more capable of connecting to the eternal flow of spirit and it may be the dwelling place of the soul.

Heaven (paradise)

Interpretation: Heaven represents all of those things for which most people hope. Some of us may not be convinced of its existence, but all of us have definite ideas about what heaven should be like. Others believe that there are many different heavens and in their dreams they visit those place through soul travel. Whatever your belief system or your dream experience may be, this dream usually leaves you feeling positive and energized.

Snake (serpent)

Interpretation: In some cultures snakes are highly regarded and symbolize the ability to transcend into higher levels of consciousness or into areas of knowledge that exist outside perceived time and space. In the pre-Christian days, snakes were considered symbols of fertility, healing, and nurturing (the healing serpent representing a god). Post Adam and Eve, snakes are often considered symbols of temptation and evil, anger, and envy. Snakes emerging out of the ground may represent your unconscious or repressed materials coming to your conscious mind. Freud thought that the snake was a phallic symbol. It is amazing how many people have snake dreams! Most snake dreams seem to be disturbing and they leave the dreamer feeling anxious and afraid. There are no simple interpretations to the snake dreams. Each dreamer must consider their own situation and all of the details of the dream. Sometimes snakes may be phallic symbols and other times they represent negativity in our lives that hampers our progress and constantly threatens us. In the long run the snake may be a positive symbol; it may represent difficulties that lead us to the center of personality and result in feelings of completeness.
