School Interpretation: In a dream, school is a place where one works out situations with a feeling of familiarity or a place where the situation can be controlled. For teens it’s the backdrop for many social issues. Odor Interpretation: To dream of an unpleasant odor predicts anxieties which could be major or minor (depending on how bad the dream smell is). Also, to smell something in your dream often indicates your past experiences and feelings with that particular smell. Your dream may be trying to convey a feeling to you by associating it with a familiar smell. Shoe Box Interpretation: To dream of an empty shoe box, symbolizes that you are ready for true love and want it to come into your life. If you dream of shoe boxes filled with new shoes, you may be overconfident in your success. Or, you may be on a life path that is unfamiliar to you. Smelly Interpretation: To dream of something smelly (an unpleasant odor) predicts anxieties which could be major or minor, depending on how bad the dream smell is. Also, to smell something in your dream often indicates your past experiences and feelings with that particular smell. Your dream may be trying to convey a feeling to you by associating it with a familiar smell. Alien (UFO) Interpretation: Occasionally, people will have dreams about UFO's and aliens. What these dreams symbolize, collectively or individually is difficult to explain and understand. Meeting and talking to aliens may suggests that significant changes are coming into your life and, at the moment, things feel strange and foreign to you. If you dream that you are the alien, it suggests that you may feel detached from some parts of yourself and from others. You may be a stranger in your immediate surroundings, and some self-evaluation and familiarization is suggested. Child (children) Interpretation: Some people have reoccurring dreams about a small child, while others, from time to time, dream about unfamiliar children. The child in your dream could represent your inner self, or the child within. The dream could be based on childhood memories, and it may carry a specific message or bring up long-buried issues. On the other hand, the dream could simply be a pleasant memory. Children in dreams could symbolize a need and an eagerness to learn, simplicity, intuition, new endeavors and many other positive attributes of childhood. Occasionally, the child in your dreams may be pointing to your own childish ways. Therefore, consider all of the details and the tone of the dream before making an interpretation. Fighting (fight) Interpretation: It usually symbolizes anger and confusion that comes about in times of change. If nothing is changing in your life, it may be a clue that a change is needed or that you want to change internally. Fighting with strangers usually represents an internal struggle. Fighting with familiar people may be an extension of daily life and a reflection on your relationship with them. Faces (face) Interpretation: It is very common to dream about all kinds of faces. Strange faces and familiar faces alike are frequent images in our dreams. Interpret your dream by considering the face and the general content of the dream. A stranger's face could represent different parts of your personality or psyche. You think that you are seeing a stranger but in actuality you are seeing a different part of yourself. Jung said that the stranger is a part of you that comes from the unconscious. A comic face may indicate that you have a conscious or unconscious need to mock or snub the conventional. Featureless faces suggest that you may feel unnoticed and unappreciated. On the other hand, some believe that the blank or unclear face represents a teacher. That is someone who is there to show and teach you a lesson but you are unprepared for it and the face is blank. Smiling faces are representative of happy thoughts and feelings and possibly anticipation of a joyful event in the near future. Always remember the compensatory nature of dreams and their ability to point to the opposite of what you experience in daily life. Homosexuality Interpretation: Sex in many different forms is frequently the topic of dreams. Sexual dreams don't always have sexual meaning. They are at times about power, control, identity and other non-sexual issues of life. If you are homosexual, dreams regarding this particular sexual orientation are not atypical. They are simply the extension of your thoughts and feelings in the form that is the most familiar and meaningful to you. If a heterosexual person is having a homosexual dream, it may have a variety of connotations. The interpretation of this dream, as with all others, is very personal and generalizations are difficult to make. This dream may be about loving yourself, especially if the other individual in your dream is a stranger. The dream may be about integrating ideas and attitudes, and in a few, rare cases may be about sexual orientation. Sexual dreams are either wish-fulfilling, compensatory, or non-sexual, but rather are about issues mentioned above. Umbrella (umbrellas) Interpretation: In dreams umbrellas usually symbolize the device that the conscious mind uses to protect itself from the unconscious. Umbrellas might symbolize our unwillingness to deal with negative emotions, psychological baggage, or trauma. If the umbrella is opened, you may be protecting yourself from unconscious materials. If the umbrella is closed, then you may be prepared and be willing to deal with the unfamiliar psyche. Old dream interpretations say that the umbrella is the symbol of security. If the umbrella is broken or turned inside out, your ultimate achievement is possible but delayed. |
