 Dream Interpretations  Dreams about: internal

Black and white

Interpretation: If your dream is all in black and white (with no color), you are experiencing an internal change. Your conscious and unconscious selves are merging to create a greater self. This is a positive dream of unification.

Threat / Threaten

Interpretation: To dream that you threaten others, suggests that you need to stand up for yourself in your real life. To dream that you are being threatened, signifies that you have some internal fear of inadequacy which needs to be dealt with - work on your self-esteem.

Fainting (fainted)

Interpretation: Dreams that we remember are those that have penetrated through our ego defenses and their messages have began to come into our conscious awareness. Often, we do not have a full understanding of the meaning of a particular dream. Awareness is a long and continual process. If you remember dreams in which you are fainting, the setting of the dream and the details leading to the fainting spell are important. Fainting in your dream suggests that you are unable to consciously confront the issues or the topic that is being raised by the unconscious. In daily life, we faint when we are ill or when we are overcome by environmental forces (i.e. heat, smells, a traumatic event or a dramatic visual image). In the dream, internal forces, images or emotions that may be to powerful for us to process may have an overwhelming effect on the dream ego and fainting occurs. The fainting dream may be the first step in a process of becoming more aware of a particular area of your life. The unconscious will continue to send up messages and eventually you may be able to experience the unconscious psychic event that currently results in fainting.

Fighting (fight)

Interpretation: It usually symbolizes anger and confusion that comes about in times of change. If nothing is changing in your life, it may be a clue that a change is needed or that you want to change internally. Fighting with strangers usually represents an internal struggle. Fighting with familiar people may be an extension of daily life and a reflection on your relationship with them.

Ear/earring

Interpretation: Your unconscious mind may be suggesting a need to become more attentive to and more aware of internal and external stimuli. In order to learn we must listen to inner and outer voices. Good listening skills are a source of information which enable us to respond more appropriately to the world around us.

Pier (ocean)

Interpretation: Sometimes a dreamer may stand on a pier looking out over the ocean (or other large body of water). Sometimes waiting for a ship or a boat. The water symbolizes the unconscious and our emotions. It could also be considered the "water of life," with meaning ranging form the simplest (as the necessity for life) to the most profound (life itself and all of its complexities). Its meaning can be drawn though analysis of your current situation and internal dynamics. If we are waiting for the opportunity to begin a new adventure, it could be reflected in this dream. Additionally, you may have a desire to get to know yourself better, to explore your own unconscious, and to grow in an emotional, psychological, or spiritual way. You are standing on a pier because you need or want to go on a journey in daily real life or an internal journey to your own unconscious.

Yard (backyard)

Interpretation: In daily life the appearance of a backyard is usually a reflection on the people living in the house. A neat and well groomed yard, with grass and flowers, usually indicates that people living there are conscientious, caring, and have enough energy to maintain their property. The yard in your dream may be a reflection of how well you have been able to maintain your internal and external environment. The backyard points to things that are less obvious and, at times, may be unconscious. It may also represent childhood memories that hold positive and negative emotions and lead to self-awareness. If the yard in your dream was a measuring unit, think about what you are measuring and if any growth has taken place.

War (battle)

Interpretation: Dreaming about a war or a battle suggests that the dreamer has internal conflict. One part of personality or psyche may be battling with another for control and the dream reflects this internal war. Another reason for dreaming about war is that you may be faced with a situation that requires you to be aggressive or assertive and to come to terms with opposition. War veterans and others who have experienced war first hand may, from time to time, have such dreams based on memory and trauma.

Gift (present)

Interpretation: Giving and receive gifts is usually a pleasant occasion and both parties benefit from the exchange. Dreaming about gift giving may be a reflection on positive exchanges that are occurring in your daily life. Some say that to give and to receive is the same things. Keep this in mind and also remember that the most valuable gifts may be emotional and spiritual in nature and that your dream may be attempting to make you aware of such gifts. Consider all of the details in the dream and make attempts to connect them to internal and personal realities or daily events.

Hide (hiding)

Interpretation: In daily life we hide from things that we don't want to deal with or we hide from danger. As children we played the game of "hide and go seek," while as adults we enjoy "chase and discovery." The emotional tone of your dream will reveal its meaning. If you are hiding out of danger, then you should consider those things in your life that propose a threat to you. They could be internal forces or environmental conditions. Generally, we attempt to hide our own negativity and mistakes. This dream may call for an honest reflection on personal characteristics and an evaluation of how much fear influences our lives and decision-making.
