Serapis : \Se*ra"pis\, n. [L., fr. Gr. ???, ???.] (Myth.) An Egyptian deity, at first a symbol of the Nile, and so of fertility; later, one of the divinities of the lower world. His worship was introduced into Greece and Rome.
